CRITICAL THINKING FOR PARENTS: THE IMPORTANCE OF EVIDENCED- BASED INTERVENTION
May 15 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am

On Thursday, May 15th from 10:00 am – 11:30 am

“CRITICAL THINKING FOR PARENTS: THE IMPORTANCE OF EVIDENCED- BASED INTERVENTION”

In an era of abundant but often conflicting parenting advice and information about interventions, critical thinking is essential for making informed decisions. This presentation emphasizes the importance of evidence-based interventions, equipping parents with the skills to evaluate strategies. Participants will learn to identify credible sources, distinguish between scientifically supported practices and anecdotal claims, and apply research-informed decision-making to child development, education, and well-being. By fostering a critical and evidence-based approach, parents can confidently navigate the complexities of parenting and support positive outcomes for their children.

Auditory Processing Disorder: Setting Up Your Child for Success”
Jun 4 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am

“AUDITORY PROCESSING DISORDER: SETTING UP YOUR CHILD FOR SUCCESS”

Auditory processing is simply what the brain does with the information it hears. It is a perceptual deficit that can impact listening, comprehension, literacy, and learning. The talk will go over the definition of auditory processing, behaviors and characteristics of a disorder, and how it is assessed. It will also focus on remediation approaches for home and school, including auditory training, accommodations, and compensatory strategies.

Dr. Christine Russo-Mayer, a clinical and educational audiologist, will be our speaker. Spanish and Mandarin translation will be provided.
