On Thursday, June 6th 10 am – 11:30 am ADAPT Community Network is offering a free webinar with Daniella Soba, Senior Occupational Therapist at the Rose F. Kenney Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center in the Bronx, discussing “Using Sensory Integration Strategies to Promote Participation in Activities of Daily Living.” She will introduce participants to sensory processing fundamentals and the connection between sensory processing and body awareness. You’ll learn how to use this information to help your child participate in activities for daily living such as dressing, grooming and toileting. The flyer is attached. Registration is required. The Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council (DDAC) and Family Support Services (FSS) Committee will hold public meetings in June. As always, it is important for families to actively participate and be heard at these meetings.
The DDAC will be meeting on June 11th from 11 am – 2 pm and the FSS Committee will convene on June 12th from 11 am – 3 pm. The meetings will be conducted in person at several locations across the state, but will also have a virtual option.

On Thursday June 13th 10 am – 11:30 am ADAPT Community Network is offering a free webinar with Dr. Mary McDonald, a highly regarded Professor in the Special Education Program at Hofstra University, discussing “Increasing Behavior & Cognitive Flexibility in Students with ASD.” You’ll receive an overview of behavioral and cognitive flexibility and the importance of focusing on these areas with students with ASD.
